After returning to a recent trip in vegas I was really disappointment with the quality of photos and video my digital camera was taking. It wasn’t awful, but the quality of video, and the format it recorded in was always a headache.
As an example sometimes I need to rely on a camera that I can sneak into places, but yet record High Quality video when needed.
My old camera did an ok job..
Still the zoom was limited to only 3X, the video was shaky, HORRIBLE in low light, and the format it recorded in had to be converted to a format that could be edited every time I wanted to use it for anything (most annoying thing).
So I picked up the new SONY DSC-T500:BUY FROM AMAZON!
It shoots in low light WAY better, it shoots in 720 HD (or non hd if you want), it has a 5X optical zoom, HUGE LCD – 3.5″, and its even HDMI ready to hook up to your tv!! The best thing is it films in ultra cool MPEG4-H.264 format which is MAC friendly, and editing friendly.
The downside is it can only record 10 mins at a time of HD FORMAT. So when you hit 10 mins, you have to hit record again and make a new file. No big deal imo. Regular video format is neverending. Its also in STEREO!!!! Thats right no more mono sound, and they moved the mic to the front of the camera, old models annoyingly had it on top so your finger always covered the mic.
Oh and photo quality of course is really really really good..
So far everything is gravy. I did notice that when filming HD, it kills the battery. Im guessing about an hour battery life for HD. So if you’re using it for alot of HD, might wanna pick up a second battery. BUT, for normal photo use, and light video use.. the battery is sufficient.
As for low light… When you have low or no light, most cameras (without night vision will choke.) I have a 6K video camera that is only a hair better at low light then this camera.

I now live off of Bob Hope Drive, in Burbank, California. A different state. I have traveled with some of the best comics around. I filmed and edited comedy history, and learned alot about the art form. Hypnotizing the audience, and bringing them inside your fucked up world.
I decided to try it again.
Joe Rogan threw me into the arena, Sold Out audience in Atlanta, GA. The night before the UFC. Midnight show at the Atlanta Punchine, filled with drunks, UFC meatheads, and a days notice to write a new 5 mins of material. Of course I appeared nervous, and flustered, but I think I pulled it off. I have been writing since, and I have done a few more sold out shows around the country with Joe. Now im focusing on some open mics here in Los Angeles. I will keep you updated.
But here is my return video.. I will get better.
